The Gift Question

When two people move abroad, live in different homes, build a life together, and accumulate a few years of adult life along the way, something rather curious happens: somehow, more plates, glasses, toasters, and household items start to appear than would seem remotely reasonable for two people.
Between everything we already had and everything we have collected over the years, we can say with some confidence that our home is very well equipped. In some cases, perhaps even a little too well equipped.
So, for those who have asked what we would like as a wedding gift, our answer is simple: we have decided not to have a traditional wedding gift registry.
If you would like to give us a gift, we would be very grateful for a contribution to our honeymoon fund, whether in cash or by bank transfer, to help us build the next chapters of our life together. Whether it goes towards future projects, travels, our future family, or the many dreams we still hope to fulfil, it will be a gift that we will use and remember with great joy.
But we would also like to say something important: there is absolutely no obligation. Your presence, your friendship, and the effort that many of you will make to celebrate with us are already, in themselves, a wonderful expression of love and support.
