Because a Mass Is Also Sung

As we prepared for our marriage, we came to realise that music would not be merely a detail of the celebration. Just as we carefully chose the readings, the prayers, and the saints included in our litany, we also wanted each hymn to carry a special meaning.
In the Christian tradition, music is far more than an accompaniment. It helps us to pray, to listen to God, and to participate more deeply in the liturgy. It is no coincidence that an ancient saying attributed to Saint Augustine declares that “he who sings prays twice.”
It was precisely from this inspiration that the choir accompanying us on this day takes its name: 2Vezes (Twice).
For many years, the 2Vezes Choir has been dedicated to providing music for liturgical celebrations, seeking to place music at the service of prayer and the beauty of the liturgy. When we began imagining our wedding day, we knew we wanted a celebration in which the hymns would not simply be heard, but truly lived. For that reason, it was with great joy that we invited the 2Vezes Choir to be part of this important moment.
Each hymn has been chosen to accompany and illuminate a different part of the Mass, helping us to pray, to give thanks, and to celebrate the sacrament we are about to receive.
Because some of the most important words of this day will be spoken.
But others will be sung.
